Afera Committee Members surveyed on current activities agenda

Last week’s survey of 22 Committee Members revealed that the Association continues to offer valuable support to tape-related businesses in 2020

Afera’s mission is carried out by a Steering Committee headed by the President of the Association and supported by 2 additional bodies, the Marketing and Technical Committees. The Committees form Working Groups (WGs) on an as-needed basis to provide key input and take action on our goals, emerging strategies, issues and projects.

Preceding last week’s twice-yearly Committee Meetings—compacted and held online this time—to discuss and develop their action plans, 22 Committee Members participated in a survey of their satisfaction with the Association’s current activities agenda.

The results
On a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being most positive, Afera’s activities agenda since the onset of COVID in 2020 and the currently running online Annual Conference series both rated exclusively between 4 and 5.

Needed support
When asked if they felt they have gotten the support they need from our industry collective in 2020, 19 answered, “I am satisfied with what Afera has offered me, and I have processed the information provided to me and participated in online meetings and Webinars when possible.” Others indicated, “I don’t need that much interaction or support, and I am pleased with my current Membership.” A variety of individual feedback comments offered helpful direction in terms of topics, information and types of interaction Committee Members are seeking.

Harnessing interested audiences
Lastly, over 70% of respondents revealed that they feel the theme and content of Afera’s online Conference sessions could appeal to a wider audience within their companies and partner organisations and suggested how this could be done further.

As the lifelines of Afera, the Committees and WGs meet at least twice a year to discuss and develop their action plans for carrying out Afera's mission: to unite stakeholders along the value chain of the European tape industry, ensuring and increasing the relevance of the tape industry in the world of tomorrow.
