MIARCO’s new patented masking tape: Chicane

With extensive experience in the business of converting and marketing adhesive tape for industry, retail and the automotive sectors, MIARCO has always looked to innovation and research to keep up to date with and successfully cater for the needs of an industry which is constantly evolving. The result of this is the development of its new Chicane tape.

The Valencian company added the new Chicane tape to its range of masking solutions last year, thus strengthening this line of products. The launch of this tape, which was presented at the MOTORTEC fair in March 2017, has revolutionised the vehicle repair industry, and has strengthened MIARCO’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement in a mature market.

Chicane tape is the result of comprehensive market research carried out in conjunction with numerous paint shops throughout Spain. This helped the company to develop a prototype that responds to a real market need. As part of its DNA that supports innovation as a tool for creativity and competitiveness, the company has patented this new masking tape thus reinforcing its commitment to innovation in this mature market.

This tape has been specifically designed to mask rubber seals and joints, and is radically different to traditional masking tapes. The joints and seals on doors, the bonnet and the boot are the most difficult areas to mask, requiring more time and materials. Chicane masking tape, patented by MIARCO, is designed to help paint shops speed up the masking process and concentrate on the important part of the job: the paint respray.

This revolutionary product has numerous advantages: vehicle masking times are reduced by up to half, savings are made on materials, doing away with the need for foam tape and traditional masking solutions; and a better finish is obtained on seals and joints, given that the new tape stops paint from getting inside the vehicle, blending paint cut-off lines to provide excellent results.

MIARCO's new Chicane tape was launched in March at the Motortec Automechanika trade fair in Madrid, proving a hit from the outset. Since then, it has become more and more successful, winning the Automation Innovation award at the last Equip Auto fair in Paris, and the Décision Atelier web award, as product of the year in the bodywork category.

This product is revolutionising the vehicle masking process and aims to become a must in bodywork repair and paint shops.

MIARCO has set up a new website (www.chicanetape.com) to provide in-depth information about this new solution for industry professionals, including a multimedia area which showcases the numerous applications of this revolutionary tape.
