The EU CLP Regulation, which aligns classification, labelling, and packaging of chemicals and mixtures with the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), entered into force on 20 January 2009. The intention is to adopt the United Nations’ GHS of communicating about hazardous chemicals to make it easier to market products everywhere. The GHS comes from an international agreement to which over 65 countries already adhere.
